IN:SITE Design Build Associates, Inc. provided a complete restoration for the 7 story, 611 Mission street building. After demolishing the building’s interior returning it back to shell condition the building was seismically upgraded using a moment frame design that maintained the building’s open windows and maximized the open space. All base building systems were replaced including new, high capacity data/ communication feeds, new electrical service and riser, new mechanical / HVAC systems, a new state of the art elevator and shaft, and a new roof. In addition, the exterior of the building was waterproofed & painted accenting the Art Deco style that had been hidden for decades.

By adding five skylights on the 7th floor, the upper floor went from dark and gloomy to bright and open. Neutral and lasting finishes were selected for the lobby, elevator and common areas in the building. Tasked with a stringent budget and schedule, IN:SITE was able to complete this project within budget and on schedule with flying colors.
As the anchor tenant at 611 Mission Street, Macromedia (formerly Andromedia) desired a space that could provide them with an open floor plan yet have the separation between various groups and departments. By taking advantage of the long and narrow shape of the building we were able to provide a private yet open space on each of the floors. With the use of color, appropriate furniture and well-chosen lighting, IN:SITE provided a functional yet comfortable space highlighting the building’s interesting architecture.
