IN:SITE provided architectural design services for the complete renovation of 2 floors from a shell building state. When IN:SITE was hired to begin design for ICON Medialab, a Swedish Internet-based marketing concepts & web-design firm, they were growing faster than anyone had anticipated. After touring many spaces it was determined that the shell building space provided the open expansive floor plate and natural light that was top priority for management. Once the space was determined, the infrastructure and technology was designed so that the inner workings of the company were well planned and detailed. |

The concept of the space is very forward thinking. When entering the space, you feel at ease. There is no “reception room”, you are greeted by the “vibe manager” who might ask if you would like to sit at the long, bar height table in the café or relax in the big, low seating area. You are served an espresso drink while you look at the latest design trade publications and listen to the latest CD. The space planning intent is to have all areas flow into one another. The number one criteria was to avoid any corporate feel. The space was intended to be a creative factory sitting high in the air overlooking the bustling world below. There is a Zen room for quiet contemplation, a game room to get your aggressions out, a library, a large conference room and even a laundry room in case you want to sleep at the office. The space was designed to provide a restful place where great design and thought happens… |
